This part is dedicated to the practical solution of inverse modeling and optimization problems, whose importance for simulations and TCAD was outlined in Section 6.2. In this chapter the design and implementation of the SIESTA framework (simulation environment for semiconductor technology analysis) and its optimizers are presented. The following chapters focus on selected inverse modeling problems that were solved using SIESTA.
