Biography (as of 29-11-1996): Walter Bohmayr was born in Steyr, Austria, in 1969. He studied electrical engineering and computer science at the Technische Universität Wien, where he received the degree of Diplomingenieur in Industrial Electronics and Control Theory in 1993. During his studies, he was employed with Austrian Industries as a software engineer. He joined the Institute for Microelectronics in November 1993, where he received his doctoral degree in October 1996 (summa cum laude). His work is focused on physical and mathematical models and algorithms for three-dimensional process simulation in integrated circuit fabrication. In 1995, the SUSTAIN Coordination Board agreed with awarding him the SUSTAIN fellowship at Fraunhofer Institut für Integrierte Schaltungen-Bauelementetechnologie, Erlangen, and he held a visiting research position at SONY, Atsugi, Japan. Part of his work was carried out within the JESSI project PROMPT. |
