The GRS (grid support library) was designed to support read, write, and manipulation operations for grids and attributes stored on PIF files. It supports both ortho product and unstructured grids. Among the supported operations are generic point location and interpolation in two dimensions. As point location implementation for two-dimensional unstructured grids the KIRKPATRICK algorithm [8] is used.
