The implementation of remote system processes which are able to
operate in parallel is critical to the operation of the SIESTA
environment. A smooth and robust handling of these processes is a must
for a successful operation of the applications which are built on top
of that functionality. Furthermore, it has to be as simple as possible
to deal with these system processes, since their usage must not
aggravate the implementation of any other algorithms. The
task objects, which are implemented by the Job
Farming Module, are intended to fulfill these requirements. They
serve as a communication interface between SIESTA and the operating
system.
