Erasmus Langer was born in
Vienna, Austria, in 1951. After having received the degree of
Diplomingenieur from the Technische Universität Wien in 1980, he
was employed at the Institute of Electrical and Electronics
Engineering. In 1986 he received his doctoral degree and in 1988 he
joined the Institute for Microelectronics. In 1997 he received the
venia docendi in microelectronics. Since 1999 Dr. Langer has been head of the
institute. His current research topic is the simulation of
micro-structures using High Performance Computing paradigms.
